FY2023 Tribal Transportation Program Safety Fund (TTPSF)

PLEASE NOTE:  The deadline for the 2023 TTP Safety Fund has been extended to March 9, 2023 at 11:59pm Eastern Time. You may apply any time on or before the deadline.

To apply for the 2023 TTPSF, complete the following steps.  All forms and documents for this opportunity can be found on the TTPSF webpage.

  1. Review the TTPSF Notice of Funding Opportunity
  2. Fill out an application form
  3. Prepare a project narrative using the template found in the 2023 TTPSF application information and selection criteria guide.
    • Infrastructure Improvement category applications require a project narrative.
    • Data Assessment, Improvement, and Analysis category applications require a project narrative.
    • New or Updated Transportation Safety Plan category applications may include an optional project narrative.
    • Systemic Roadway Departure Coutermeasures category applications must include the risk assessment form and a project narrative is recommended.
  4. Use this online form to submit a completed application form, project narrative, and any additional supporting documentation.

You must complete this online form within 20 minutes or less to avoid risk of losing your work.   

Do not use Internet Explorer to complete this form as that internet browser may stop working when attempting to upload attachments. Modern internet browsers such as Chrome or Firefox will provide full functionality.

Application, Project Narrative, & Supporting Documents

Please upload in this section the required application form, project narrative, and any other supporting documentation described in Step 6 of the application form.

Required Supporting documentation:

  • Project narrative (or other required project documentation)
  • Letter of acknowledgement from facility owner (for infrastructure projects on facilities not owned by BIA or a Tribe)
  • Itemized budget (May be included in project narrative)

Optional supporting documentation includes photos, maps, data, inventory data sheets, and other documentation which supports the application.  Please ensure these additional documents are referenced and summarized in the project narrative.
