Dear Community Member,
Commander Naval Air Forces (CNAF) has partnered with the Military Family Building Coalition (MFBC) to create The AVIATRIX Project - a pilot program that will provide individualized family building counseling and fertility guidance with a focus on female reproductive health to the service members of the Naval Aviation Enterprise (NAE).
The AVIATRIX Project will provide female service members within the Naval Aviation Community with fee free access to individualized clinical counseling for family building. The intent of the counseling is to educate the service member on the options available within advanced reproductive care and adoption, to support and assist the member in navigating family building while engaged in military service.
At present, Tricare does not provide coverage for advanced reproductive care and offers limited access to care through 6 military treatment facilities for a subsidized fee. This program will offer guidance on how to navigate existing resources within Tricare AND provide personalized counseling on options on how to fulfil your family building goals. The AVIATRIX Project access is provided to the service members through the MFBC and the donation of services of WINFertility, a private sector company.
There will be multiple phases of this partnership and program, with the ultimate goal of achieving an enhanced understanding of fertility challenges, the need for family building resources, and the benefits of individualized reproductive health care for service members. This is a program supported through the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Office of CNAF and is open to all ages, race, marital status, and sexual orientation.
The first step in electing to participate in The AVIATRIX Project this short survey Family Building Survey intended to gather information and narrative for use to further develop strategic, educational, or advocacy plans and materials. Information gathered below will remain anonymous and will not be shared for any other purpose (your name and email are optional).
*** SURVEY- 2-10 minutes***
Please answer the questions as they pertain to yourself the service member (dependents are NOT eligible for this program)with your best estimates. The entire survey should take between 2-10 minutes of your time (depending on any supplemental thoughts or information you prefer to share).
Demographic data is requested in order to capture and evaluate lived experiences, as well as implementation of the program and policies to ensure that they fairly and equitably serve the needs of all identities in compliance with anti-discrimination laws, regulations, and policies.
Following the completion of the survey, you will be provided a link to The AVIATRIX Project web page at the Military Family Building Coalition website. You will be asked to complete an 'intake' form and agree to the terms of enrollment and timeline of the program.
Congratulations for being one of the first service members to benefit from this unique service to support your military career and family building goals!!
